Course Details

The Mitchell River Trail Run will have 3 distances to suit trail runners of all fitness and experience levels.

50km

Starting from Echo Bend the course will complete a 5km loop around the trails of the campground property including an amazing clifftop trail with views from high down to the Mitchell River below.

Then the course continues into the Mitchell River National Park and north along the walking trail all the way to Angusvale camping ground. This is the turn around point at 30km and the course returns back south along the walking track to the Den of Nargan Lookout and finally along a nice single trail into the Echo Bend Camping Park.

Total Elevation gain = 1500m

22km

The 22km course starts the same way as the 50km, heading east through the farm trails before descending towards the river. There is a tough little climb up the the cliff-line trail where you are rewarded with amazing views down to the Mitchell River. 

Once into the Mitchell River National Park you will follow the walking trail north to Billy Goat Bend campground. This is the turnaround point and also an aid station. Be sure to check out the views over the Amphitheatre before heading back south along the walking trail and take care when passing your fellow runners. The last physical challenge is at 20km and involves the tough switchback climb from the Den of Nargan. Then enjoy the nice single track finish into the Echo Bend Camping Park.

6km

6km- This is no parkrun on a flat bike path! The path is the same as 50 and 22km starts which head east along the farm trails before descending down towards the river. There is a little climb back up to the cliffline trail where you which forget the burn in your legs and enjoy the amazing views and maybe stop for a selfie or two. The course finishes with a technical little descent and then fun 1km singletrail back to the finish line at Echo Bend.
